People Who Help Us at Children 1st @ St. Peter and St. Paul
A huge thank-you to our parents who kindly gave up their time to help bring this topic to life for the children.
We had a special visit from a parent who is a nurse. She showed the children some of the equipment she uses in her work, such as the blood pressure monitor, a stethoscope and a thermometer. She explained what these pieces of equipment are used for. She then showed us how to wash our hands properly, talking to us about germs and keeping healthy.
The Police Officer who kindly visited us also showed the children some of the equipment he uses such handcuffs, his police hats and also his walkie talkie. He talked to the children about the uses of the equipment and the need for the special clothing worn by the Police. It was then time to head outside and explore the police car. The children loved putting the sirens on and sitting in the car. The children also learnt all about how we can talk to police officers, if we ever need help.
We would like to thank our parents for taking the time to support our learning.
