Police Visit to Children 1st @ Newark - Children 1st Day Nurseries

Police Visit to Children 1st @ Newark

As part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic, the children have spent the week learning about the work carried out by police officers.

Our Peter Rabbits and Early Years enjoyed a fantastic visit from local police officers. We were very fortunate to be joined by four officers from the Newark Police  who, to the delight of the children, brought along their ‘flashing vehicles’, a police car and a van!

The children learnt all about what police officers do, tried on some of their uniform, learned about the equipment they carry and explored the vehicles. This was such a busy visit!

The visit finished with the children presenting their visitors with some special cupcakes. The children had decorated the cakes with blue icing and placed a police officer on the top of each one!

Elijah was very impressed by the visit saying, “I want to be a police officer when I grow up.”

Isla said, “We ring 999 when we want to speak to the police. Well-remembered Isla but as Miss Lea pointed out, “We only do this in an emergency.”

Clearly, the police had made a great impression on the children and we would like to say a big “THANK-YOU” to Newark Police for their interesting visit.
