Rainbow Rice and Pancakes at Children 1st @ Sheffield
The Bobtails had so much fun exploring rainbow coloured rice in their creative area! Some of our curious Jemima Puddleducks children were eager to visit and play with us.
The children absolutely loved using their fingers and hands to feel the texture of the rice and picking it up and dropping it into the bowls! As well as using their hands, the children were really good at using the different sized spoons to scoop up the rice and to pour it into the bowls ready to then be stirred as we mixed It all together.
The Bobtails did an amazing job at role modelling and showing the little ones different ways to play and explore. The Jemima Puddleducks were wonderful in how they confidently explored and played in a different environment with their familiar adult!
It’s no surprise that the Early Years were so enthusiastic when it came to making pancakes as part of our celebration of Pancake Day. With the help of Mr Wolf from our story of the week, ‘Mr Wolf’s Pancake’ they followed the recipe to make their own batter and watched it turn from a liquid to a solid on the pancake maker. They then put some yummy toppings on our pancakes, and we can safely say they earned a 10/10 for their fantastic efforts. Good work Early Years!
