Rainy Day Adventures at Children 1st @ St. Peter and St. Paul
Who says rainy days are boring? Certainly not our early years children whose interest in worms was the result of a rainy day adventure. It all began when Miss Holly told the story of her own adventures as a child when she decided to dig her way to Australia. The children were keen to begin their own digging escapades but instead of reaching Australia they discovered a fascination with worms! The children each found their own worms and were able to closely observe how the worms moved.
The children decided to hold a worm race! It was a slow start but, after lots of encouragement and loud shouts of “Come on worm!” from the children, there was soon a clear winner. After the excitement of the race, the children returned the worms to where they had found them so they are safe in their natural environment.
