Rays of Sunshine at Children 1st @ Buckinghams

Our children at Buckinghams have been having a great time in the spring sunshine and are enjoying our topic ‘Healthy Bodies and Happy Minds.’

They have been busy in the garden planting lettuces, radishes and broad beans. We discussed what we needed to do to look after the seeds to make sure they grow into healthy plants that we can eat.

All the children have joined in with lots of sensory activities, including spending time in our sensory story den outside in the garden.

The loved exploring how they can make their bodies move in different ways. Early Years loved using their whole body by rolling down the hill. This was enormous fun and was enjoyed by the children and the staff.

We’ve also been talking about our emotions and how we express our feelings. The children were really good at choosing words such as frustrated, angry, disappointed, happy and glad.

We’re looking forward to more fun in the sunshine as we continue to explore our topic.
