Reading is Fun for the Benjamin Bunnies at Children 1st @ The Marina
The children love sharing the wonder of books in The Marina’s new story hut. With plenty of reading aloud and excitement added to the stories by using different voices for the various characters in the book, the children have been discovering the fun of stories. They’ve also been enjoying the fabulous illustrations.
The fairy lights, particularly in the dark winter months, make the story hut a cosy and magical spot for a good read. Favourite books include, ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt,’ The Gruffalo’ and ‘Grumpy Fish.’
We’re so pleased to see the Benjamin Bunnies becoming ‘hooked on books’ as early reading activity has so many benefits. For example, it ignites creativity, sparks curiosity, and stimulates the imagination. This leads to role-play as the children grow which helps to develop other skills such as empathy, and problem-solving.
Olivia was so engrossed with, ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt,’ she’s said, ” Swishy, swoshy, oh no! Shut the door, up the stairs!” Albie was fascinated by the physical appearance of the Gruffalo saying, “Purple prickles all over his back!!”
