Reimagining The Bear Hunt at Children 1st @ Grantham

The Early Years recently enjoyed a brilliant activity using some small trays which was was inspired by the children’s classic story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michal Rosen.

The story is one of the children’s favourites They love listening to the story and joining in at all the stages of the family’s adventures. They created the family’s journey by adding different materials to the trays to represent the obstacles they faced on their bear hunt.

The children talked about what each material they were using. They discussed textures and named colours and discussed what the characters in the story must have felt like as they went through each element. They made a fabulous resource which is great for retelling the story and using its wonderful language.

Well done everyone for working so well together as a team and creating a marvellous visual experience.
