Snowy Days at Children 1st @ Acorns Upper Tean and Buckinghams (Leek)
Some of our nurseries received a blanket of snow recently which brought wonder and delight to the children.
At Acorns the under 2 children had a fantastic time exploring in the snow. The Bobtail children walked through the snow to hear it crunch underneath their wellies and then felt the snow to see what it was like. They also enjoyed using the large soft play blocks for pretend sledges and had great fun sliding down in the snow on these.
The children helped Miss Michelle to make a fantastic snowman in the garden and then went on a hunt to find two buttons for eyes, a carrot for the nose and two twigs for the arms, not forgetting a hat for the snowman!
The Jemima Puddleducks cautiously explored the snow which was brought inside for them. They spent their time feeling the snow and then picked it up between their fingers.
The children at Buckinghams were very excited to see the snow covering the play areas and gardens. For the babies it’s their first experience of snow and they showed lots of curiosity when noticing their footprints. The older children worked together to make snowman ‘Bill.’ They learned about their body parts whilst building the snowman and enjoyed role playing ‘Frozen,’ pretending to be Elsa and building Olaf.
It’s no wonder we’re having so much fun in the snow at Children 1st nurseries! Please share our snowy adventures by looking through the gallery of pictures.
