Space Exploration at Children 1st @ Oakwood
The children at Oakwood have had so much fun exploring Space! We all dressed up in our space/alien costumes and took part in some wonderful activities.
Some children made their own space rockets at home and brought these to nursery to share with their friends.
The children in Bobtails painted a starry sky using lots of yellow paint. The children made large movements with the bristly brushes to make the night sky. The children had so much fun getting messy with the paint!
Our Benjamin Bunnies painted their own space rocket. As part of a team they chose the colours they wanted to use and painted the rocket using the brushes. We then took the rocket outside and had a story about a young bear who goes to the moon, ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy.
In Early Years we have been talking about the planets and making our own solar systems and constellations. The children had so much fun dressing up and being space people and aliens for the day.
Thank-you to our parents for the amazing costumes and the homemade rockets which were fab!
