Special Person Day at Children 1st @ St. Peter and St. Paul
As part of our ‘All About Me’ topic, we held a special person day. Our Peter Rabbits and Early Years children invited any of their special people to come along and join in with some activities related to our topic. It turned out to be quite a creative event!
The activities we had on offer included the children and family members creating self-portraits. This could be done with pencils or play-dough. They used the mirrors to draw themselves based on their reflections. Some even opted to draw each other. Over on the play dough the children and their special visitors were busy moulding and using different materials to create portraits.
The hit activity of our sessions was definitely the opportunity to make a family tree poster. All our special people and the children brought photos in from home showing family members. They used the images and their own ideas to create their family tree. There was so much chatting, cutting and sticking going on as everyone really engaged with the task! It was great to hear the children talking about themselves and to see how eager they were to share their family trees.
So much fun was had by all! Thank-you to everyone who supported us in these sessions.
