Springing into Action at Children 1st @ Acorns Upper Tean
Only six days into April and already we’ve been very busy here at Acorns,
The children have been working hard in the barn sorting out the poly-tunnel and all the pots and equipment that we have down in the allotment ready for Spring and Summer work in the garden. They helped Mr Peter to sort through all the old pots getting rid of any squashed and broken ones.
With all the hard work, everyone built up a huge appetite and tucked into Miss Sam’s fish pie!
A ‘Fabulous Friday’ morning saw the arrival of Paul the music man who came to lead a music session. Miss Georgia brought out our special guitars, so the children could take turns in playing a tune along with Paul. Later, everyone enjoyed joining in with action songs. Stomping as dinosaurs was a clear favourite! Miss Jess and Miss Georgia could hear lots of excited giggles and see very big smiley faces.
Following on from an exciting activity using plastic eggs which had the children predicting whether items in the eggs would float or sink, they were so excited by the arrival of seven chicken eggs and their incubator. The eggs will stay in the incubator with a humid heat for 21 days and during this time the incubator will rotate and turn the eggs like a mother hen. The children can’t wait to see what happens! The egg countdown has begun!
