Surprise Visitors at Children 1st @ Oakwood

This term we have been learning all about the different people within our community who are here to help us and keep us safe.

Recently we had some very special visitors come to meet our Early Years’ children, three Police Officers from Derbyshire Constabulary!

The children couldn’t believe the Police had come to visit us at nursery and what an amazing experience it was!

The children looked inside the Police car and of course had a go at pressing the sirens! Sitting inside the car was a great thrill!

They were able to learn about some of the important jobs the Police Officers do on a regular basis. We spoke about what a Police Officer has to wear and got to see some of their special uniforms.

The children and staff members thoroughly enjoyed this experience and we all can’t wait to do it again! Since the visit, the children have  been dressing-up as Police Officers and role playing different scenarios.
