Time Flies at Children 1st @ Buckinghams
We’re so busy here at Buckinghams that the weeks seem to fly by. Looking back over recent weeks we’ve been reflecting on all that’s been happening. Here’s some highlights.
Our lifecycle topic created a lot of interest from the children, helped by being able to observe the stages in the lifecycle of a butterfly. Releasing the butterflies after watching them develop was a truly special moment.
Peter Rabbits and Early Years showed us their great gardening skills when they tidied up the garden and planted some new plants ready for summer. This was also a time to search out and have a close look at the mini beasts who make our garden their home.
Early Years loved their focus on pets and were delighted when we were joined by special visitors, the African tortoise, a gecko and a dog. They enjoyed sharing photos of their own pets and telling us all about them. We were pleased to welcome some new creatures to nursery in the form of some new fish and some snails. The children are doing a great job of looking after them.
Testing their taste buds was another popular activity with the Early Years. Lemons and limes certainly tickled their taste buds as they explored their senses.
Peter Rabbits had fun learning about the importance of oral hygiene and were very enthusiastic about brushing their teeth at nursery.
Last but by no means least, we all enjoyed a week of activities to mark and to find out about the coronation of King Charles 111. Our special tea party was full of fun!
Our busy times will continue as we move towards an action packed Summer.
