Time to Move at Children 1st @ Hathern
It’s time to move in more ways than one as the children engage with their transport topic and our school leavers say farewell before moving on to their new schools.
The children have been focusing on the topic of transport, what this means and the types of transport they see in their environment.
In our Under 2s unit, the children have been using the diggers and cars to explore in different sensory materials. They’ve used the diggers to explore in crushed up rice krispies and mud. The children enjoyed feeling the different textures in the tuff spot!
Our Peter Rabbits have been exploring with the transport in some rather gloopy cornflour. They used the aeroplanes as a prompt to talk about the holidays they have been on! The children even spotted planes in the sky when they went outside to play!
In Early Years the children have loved making ramps for their cars to go down. The children pretended to have police cars and ambulances, pushing them down the ramps.
It’s been an emotional few weeks as we have been saying a fond farewell to our school leavers! The children performed the Gingerbread Man for their parents and we discussed what the children were looking forward to as they go to school.
We will miss all of our school leavers so much and wish you the best of luck as you embark on new adventures.
