Tracey the Florist Visits Children 1st @ Main Street
Continuing our topic of ‘Growing,’ the Early Years’ children were lucky enough to have a special visit from a local florist, Tracey of Tracey’s Flowers.
Tracey began by sharing a story about bees and discussed the importance of keeping bees safe and reminding us of how bees can impact on our own lives.
We then looked at various life cycles, talking about ways in which we can help to look after the creatures in our environment.
Tracey then showed us a variety of seeds, including green beans, carrots and broccoli and had us guessing which we thought would produce the biggest plants and what colour they would be!
Tracey very kindly brought some sunflower seeds in for us to plant, whilst discussing what we need to do to help them grow. Each child (and staff!) planted their own seeds and over the next couple of weeks, we will continue to water them and watch them flourish.
We would like to say a big thank you to Tracey’s Flowers for coming to see us. The children and staff really enjoyed the visit. We look forward to sharing our sunflower journeys with you over the coming weeks.
